Osprey Studios has a major commitment to sharing skills and encouraging creativity. I have a great deal of experience in guiding people of all ages and abilities towards their own style. My sculptural techniques have been tested to destruction and make sound foundations for your own exploration of clay and form. You can find my set of ‘How To’ posts here. I update and add to them regularly and get a big kick out of the fact that they are now used all over the world.

One to One Sessions.

This is the most engrossing and efficient way to learn a new skill.

Following your email enquiry we would chat on the phone, or by email to decide the amount of time and what content would suit you best. I genuinely want you to do well so I will never encourage you to book too much time. 2 hours can be ideal to work through a question or find a new direction. A full day is very rewarding. 3-5 Days can be enough to also complete a piece. You have my free instructional posts to help you choose what to do and to use as back-up after your session.

Tuition is £50 per hour or £200 per day (10-5 with short breaks and free refreshments, bring your own lunch).

Once we get a good date I would then ask you for a (non-refundable (unless I cancel) 50% in advance by BACS to confirm the booking. The balance for tuition + the costs of what ever materials etc (unlikely to be more £20) you choose to take home, would be payable by BACS or cash on the day.

Group Workshops

From time to time I’ll run a Masterclass here on a particular thing. These Posts about Workshops will give you the idea. If there is something you want to work on let me know and we can collect together a group of like-minded people and set a date that works for everyone. The price is usually around £120 p/day each for a 7 hour day, with a max group size of 6. Only materials or tools you choose to keep are extra. I can provide firing and shipping but most people take their work home to complete or self-harden.

A Masterclass at your venue can have more students depending on your resources (staff, space, tools) and the fees vary.

Fees start at £50 per hour + 44p per mile travel + materials. On average individuals will use around £3.00 worth of clay.
